The GMAT Test Format

The GMAT showcases all of your skills. Therefore, the test consists of 4 sections that assesses the test-takers’ analytical writing, integrated reasoning, quantitative reasoning and verbal reasoning.

ANALYTICAL WRITING

The Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA) measures your ability to think critically and to communicate your ideas. Moreover, during the AWA, analysis of the reasoning behind a given argument and a critique of it is required as well.

AWA is scored separately on the scale from 0-6 with 0.5 increment, eg. 4, 4.5, 5 etc.

Important Note: Your AWA essay is sent to the universities (by GMAC) where you apply  and submit your GMAT score.

INTEGRATED REASONING

The Integrated Reasoning section tests your ability to evaluate information presented in multiple formats from multiple sources. Thus, these are the skills that are necessary to succeed in our data-driven world.

The whole idea of Integrated Reasoning section is to understand whether as a candidate you can comprehend the data and analyse it to find the necessary information. IR is known for having too much unwanted information in the questions.

IR is scored separately on the scale of 0-8, with increment of 1 point.

Important Note: IR score plays a crucial role in your MBA admissions if your GMAT scores are compared with other applicants with similar GMAT score.

QUANTITATIVE REASONING

The Quantitative section measures your ability to analyze data and draw conclusions using your reasoning skills. So, we can be rest assured that the mathematics required for the Quantitative reasoning section is no greater than higher secondary  school Math.

Quantitative Reasoning scaled on a scale of 2-51.

VERBAL REASONING

The Verbal section measures your ability to read and understand written material. Additionally, this section also evaluate arguments and correcting written material to conform to standard written English.

Verbal Reasoning scaled on a scale of 2-51.

The combination of Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning scaled scores lead to the final GMAT scaled score from 200-800 with increments of 10 points.

I scored 720 in my math section all due to the efforts they put in me. At the end of the day, I was given admission in 5 universities in the States and I finally took admission in Rutgers university as a medical student.

Kahani Soni

Their unique techniques helped me master a few tricks which boosted my performance and problem solving aptitude.
They also have a very positive outlook which indeed is very encouraging. I would definitely recommend Anannt Training Institue (Kothrud Branch) to my juniors.

Aditya Nidmarti

Their experience of training students for exams like GRE, GMAT is tremendous and they keep themselves updated with the changing exam pattern and questions which helps the student to have a better understanding of these sections.
